ORIGAMI BASKET

The other day i saw these chocolate panettones baked in folded paper cases on wild yeast blog.
I just love handmade stuff and i knew i had make these cute lil baskets. You can find  detailed instructions on how to make these origami baskets here.

I used 13 cms x 20 cms baking paper.

Firstly mark the center of the longer side ( at 10 cms)(you can also mark the center of the shorter side and continue with the rest of the steps to make a longer basket)

Fold the two sides towards the marked center point.

Fold the corners(as shown in the picture) towards the center, leaving almost 1 cms from the center line.

Repeat this for all the 4 corners as shown in the picture.

Now fold each 1cms flap upwards .

Press the side to form a sharp corner after insert your thumb into a corner as a guide.

Repeat this with the rest of the corners.

I used these baskets to make egg less carrot cake !! They make perfect christmas/new year gifts!!!

Sending this to Tutorial Tuesday event at Hope studios

Ballard designs inspiration

I loveeeeee these cute lil ceramic bottles from Ballard designs. Isn't that beautiful?????

They are plain but thatz jus what i liked...mmmm..but....its almost $49 for a set of 5 ....mmmm.......itzzz jus completely out of my price range.
but i really wanted a few of those.....then i started thinking and realized that i could actually make the same thing myself.yeahhh...i spray painted a few glass bottles that i had ,to create somethin similar.....
let me tell u how to do it..
You will need a few glass bottles, spray paint of your choice of colour, and clear -top coat (glossy or matte).
Firstly clean the bottle well, make sure the surface is free from dirt and grease, etc.Remove the cap and the mettalic rim from the bottle.

Now give the first coat of spray paint.let it dry....i feel several thin coats of paint allowing each coat to dry for at least 10 minutes ,are better than one heavy coat.

Spray the final layer of clear top coat.(optional) ..
look at the result!!!i love them..
